So, if you were to build a Ford into an off-roader, with something other than a F-150 or a Raptor, what about an Edge? Lol. Can transfer up to 100% of power to the rear, is available with a 2.7 twin turbo with "over 300hp".
Let's put a roofrack on it, some big tires, a lift, some skid plates and rails and maybe some other odds and ends, it'd be unique as hell yo!
Oh And I wasn't quite having this in mind, I was envisioning something less prone to rolling over.:

I like these a lot more than I should...

I think as far as a good looking CUV, they nailed it. Maybe even more-so with the new one.

Lol, where is that driveshaft coming from? Have fun lifting something with a transverse engine.

I'm guilty as well, to be honest.

Edge's can be had in AWD. Just disconnect the CVs for RWD Transverse. I suspect this is a body-on-frame chassis swap, though.

If they weren't so thirsty, I probably would have bought one a few years ago.

solid axle swap - impressive.

I suspect its a 'shop. Also if you do that you'll lose 4WD, I just don't even know how you would lift it. F150/Silverado have IFS kits, but they still get a driveshaft from the middle of the vehicle and not directly above.

Haha, I didn't say it was going to be easy :P

Haha yeah, it came from deviantart, those shoppy bastards.

26mpg from what I hear, doesn't seem too bad. Needs to go on a diet though, like the F-150 did.

Lol, I too, am impressed.

I had one as a rental and it was getting something like 17. Fun truck though. Plenty of power.

More like solid axle shop.

Yupp just found the original, this is all lies!!!

Hmm, what I heard was likely the hwy mpg on the 2.0 ecoboost. You likely drove a rental-v6? Fords V6's these days do have quite a generous amount of power, even in N/A form.

Lol, that's hilarious.

I know, for me, it has been the tech savy, nerdy, more pleasant cousin of the escape.

When the Fiesta came out in 2010 I wanted one so bad due to these.

It was a few years ago, so it may have even been the first gen. Maybe the new ones get better MPGs.

Hmm not much changed about the standard V6, just a slight bump in power on the facelift (2011), transmission stayed the same as a 6F50 (I like this one as far as auto's go).

They're like little fangs. :P

I'll chime in, as well. These are way more attractive to me than they should be. I think it's my nerdy tech side loving everything inside mixed with a bit of my car side loving the handsome styling of the newest model that was just revealed. Either way, if I was in the market for this kind of vehicle, i would probably choose an Edge.

They are! But I like them a lot.

I would as well! Edge Sport FTW!
